This is an original pleinair painting I did of the fountain on the North Pond at Parc La Fontaine in Montreal. The fountain was not functioning because the pond was emptied for the renovation of Théâtre de Verdure - you can see the fenced off area on the left. Even the iconic orange cone, symbol of Montreal's ongoing infrastructure repairs, makes an appearance. Dry for the summer of 2021, the pond filled with greenery, making a great backdrop for the fountain and its colourful tags, and the seagull sitting atop. It was an early summer day when I painted this. This painting is for someone who loves Montreal, graffiti, city landmarks, and a calm and happy mood. Ideal artwork for any living or working space.

Watercolour, 9.8 x 3.9", with professional light-fast pigments on 100% cotton paper. The painting is signed by me, JC Little, on the front and has the title and date on the back. I will include a certificate of authenticity with this painting. It will be packaged with an archival sleeve, a stiff cardboard backing and a bubble wrap envelope to protect it. To avoid waste, where ever possible I will re-use mailers and other packaging materials. It’s recommended to frame it behind glass, with an acid-free matte, to preserve the painting from deterioration. Display away from direct sunlight.
