The Clown Wig Tree 3.9 x 9.8" watercolour
The Clown Wig Tree 3.9 x 9.8" watercolour
This is an original pleinair painting of a tall, skinny tree at Parc Lafontaine in Montreal. The tree seems to have lost all its lower branches, and has a ball of leaves right at the top. In its burst of fall colours: orange, red and maroon, it resembles a funny clown wig. This view is from across the South Pond and, clowning aside, it was an overcast day when I painted this, so the painting has a touch of melancholy. A sad clown perhaps? This painting is for someone who loves the fall season, and a tranquil and thoughtful mood. It’s for someone who likes to reach for the light, and face adversity with humour. Ideal artwork for any living or working space.
Watercolour, 3.9 x 9.8" with professional light-fast pigments on 100% cotton paper. The painting is signed by me, JC Little, on the front and has the title and date on the back. I will include a certificate of authenticity with this painting. It will be packaged with an archival sleeve, a stiff cardboard backing and a bubble wrap envelope to protect it. To avoid waste, where ever possible I will re-use mailers and other packaging materials. It’s recommended to frame it behind glass, with an acid-free matte, to preserve the painting from deterioration. Display away from direct sunlight.
