NEWS: “Flying” is one of 750 tiles in the Mural Mosaic hanging in the main entrance of the Montreal Children’s Hospital. 10% of the sale of each of these limited edition prints will be donated by the artist to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

This is a limited edition signed first state print of my original watercolour painting, “Flying”, of a child carried aloft by an umbrella into a blue sky, accompanied by their teddy bear. There are only 20 prints in this edition, printed on special watercolour paper.

About “Flying”: This painting was conceived as part of a series I’m painting involving children and umbrellas. I love the umbrella as a metaphor for agency and self determination; in this piece I’m playing with themes of release, freedom and hope. For the mural at the MCH, I wanted to offer something that might spark the imagination and give a sense of wonder. Imagine if you had a magical umbrella that could catch the wind and take you anywhere you want to go? Art can take you away and the sky’s the limit. This is a pure watercolour painting: all whites are the whites of the paper, no white paint was used. This artwork is for someone who loves and appreciates thought-provoking imagery with an inspirational mood. Ideal artwork for any living, working or healing space.

Limited edition ink jet print, 13 x 14” including a white border. The print is signed, titled and numbered by me, JC Little, on the front, and it is stamped with my embossed insignia. Printed with fade resistant Claria Photo HD Ink on Epson Watercolor Paper, Radiant White. I have calibrated the print to be as close to the original painting as possible. A Certificate of Authenticity and a Framing Guide is included with this print. It’s recommended to frame it behind UV filter glass, with an acid-free matte, and display away from direct sunlight to preserve the print from deterioration and fading. It will be packaged with an archival sleeve, and carefully rolled into a cardboard shipping tube. To avoid waste, where ever possible I will re-use mailers and other packaging materials.
